I just had an Epiphany! Community bake

I have an idea for a new community bake. It will be different from all others, in that it will not be one formula/bread that we concentrate on. Instead, do you remember the first bread, the very first that you made? My idea is all participants recreate the first bread they ever made. Then to make it even more fun, the participants also recreate the most challenging bread they ever mastered. Yes, I know, too much time on my hands. Smile...

Photograph for attention.

Kind regards,

Will F.

okay there is the first bread - that one I made as a kid likely from some Kids Cookbook...and there was the first one I did as an adult (probably Joy of Cooking) and the first one that I made where I actually felt like I could do this on a regular basis (Flour Water Salt Yeast).  There was also a bread machine somewhere in there when my house was crazy with work, kids and activities.  I'm not sure I could give you an accurate first loaf!

I think my first ever yeast leavened dough was Baba au Rhum, Ina Garten's recipe. It was soooo good. I think I will make it again soon, maybe with levain. The sourness will work well with orange zest.
